Eastern Province Graduate Teaching Vacancies – Competitive Examination 2025
Due to amendments made to the graduate teaching vacancies in the Sinhala, Tamil, and English mediums in the Eastern Province (2023 and 2024), applications are called for the 2025 Competitive Examination to fill the existing vacancies in schools in the Eastern Province under the 3-1 (a) category of the Sri Lanka Teacher Service.
The closing date for applications is April 17, 2025, as published in the Government Gazette No. 2,381 dated March 29, 2024, under the heading “Open Competitive Examination for the Recruitment of Graduates to the Sri Lanka Teacher Service – 2025”.
Accordingly, under the amendments made in “Schedule 1” to the said gazette notification, the following vacancies are added to the Sinhala medium, Tamil medium, and English medium.

According to Public Administration Circular 27/88 and subsequent amendments, 3% of teaching vacancies are reserved for applicants with special needs (disabilities) who meet the required qualifications. Special needs applicants must submit a medical certificate issued by a government specialist confirming the type and degree of the disability, along with a recommendation from the relevant Medical Board.
The closing date for receiving amended applications is May 26, 2025. Applications should be submitted as per the guidelines published in the above-mentioned gazette. Late applications will not be accepted.
